Birch Creek

Joel, Jefferson and I packed up the trailer and headed to Birch Creek for the long weekend. Despite the chilly weather, we had so much fun. We went with our friends, Jared and Amilyn and some of Jared's family. The only trees there are along the creek so it wouldn't be a fun spot in the hot summer. It was a great place for the 4-wheelers so the boys had a lot of fun exploring. We camped right next to the creek (which my brilliant landscaping husband told me, got it's name from all the red birch trees that line the creek). Joel found a great fishing spot for the kids, Paige who's only five caught (and released) four in about fifteen minutes. Kodie and Paige, Jared and Ami's girls, love Jefferson. Kodie would come over to our trailer a couple times a day just to play with Jefferson and he loved all the attention. It was so fun to take him camping for the first time and he loved it, especially sitting by the fire with Joel. Yesterday I took Jefferson into his room to show him we were home and he kept turning looking back towards Em's open door. I seriously think he was looking for her. Emylee left for Seattle last Friday to stay with Laura for almost three weeks and Jefferson is already missing her. One more weekend tidbit, Jefferson is teething. Ami has never seen Jefferson fuss but she did Saturday night when we were playing games and she thought it was so strange. She also noticed he was pulling at his ear a little. Then we started to put the pieces together. He's been really stuffy lately, it's seemed like his eyes have been kind of watery and last week he started waking up between 5 and 6 and normally he sleeps till 7. It's weird though because he just gets whiny at night. It makes me sad because I'm so used to having Jefferson happy all the time but I'm also excited for these teeth to break through and to have something new to take pictures of and to blog about.
